About the Director
I’ve made 50+ short films and 4 feature documentaries.
These are my guiding principles:
Questions before answers.
Caylie & Vinnie
Wedding films have a reputation. They can feel monotonous. Even sterile. In the 50 weddings I’ve captured I refused to use a template. I rejected the idea that I knew what was best for the couple. Instead, I learned to approach each client with curiosity and explore what mattered to them.
Be relentlessly kind.
Fragments of Truth
When the Vatican Library didn’t reply to my request to film inside, I followed up with kindness and curiosity ..for months. Eventually, we got the access we wanted.
Go where the audience can’t.
T Bailey
Sometimes dangling 90 feet up in a basket is the right way to get the shot. “Production value” isn’t about spending more money. It’s about showing something on screen that the audience can’t see without you.
We’re better together.
When a friend’s documentary plans fell through, I introduced him to another and this film began.
